The Charles J. Beard II Media Center

The newly opened BNN Charles J. Beard II Media Center will offer unfettered access to the training, tools, technology and support network to facilitate community mastery of cutting edge media technologies. Boston Neighborhood Network will name its new home in honor of Charles J. Beard, a founding BNN board member and a lifelong advocate for public television, education, and diversity in Boston who passed away in March of 2004. A mentor and role model to all who knew him, Charles Beard, the first African American to be named partner at a major Boston law firm, epitomized the ideals of BNN. BNN is honored to have the opportunity to recognize Charles' lifelong commitment to ensuring all Americans an equal voice, social justice and dedication to overcoming barriers of race and class.
